Avoid unnecessary contact with affected upholstery, carpet or trim before cleanup.

Foam, carpet pad, seat fabric and other porous components may not respond like hard nonporous surfaces.

Hard surfaces are cleaned before disinfectant is applied according to the label.

Components that cannot be adequately cleaned may require removal or replacement rather than repeated surface treatment.

Scene safety and official restrictions come first.
Task-appropriate PPE and exposure controls are used.
Gross contamination is removed before disinfection.
Disinfectants are used according to their EPA label and surface compatibility.
Waste is managed according to the applicable Texas classification and disposal route.
Odor treatment follows source control rather than replacing it.
