Material Behavior

The same amount of water can produce very different outcomes in different materials.

Construction, finish, installation, exposure, contamination, permeability, and access all influence behavior and repairability.

Solid hardwood flooring

Can absorb moisture through faces, edges, ends, fastener penetrations, and the underside. Movement can appear as cupping, crowning, edge lift, checking, or finish damage.
